In just four days, you will track the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural habitat, spend some time with the local community at the Gorilla Guardian Village and visit the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, in addition to explore the beautiful Capital City.

Day 1: Arrive the beautiful City of Kigali, enjoy a City tour
A warm welcome to the spectacular Capital of Rwanda, Kigali fringed by rolling hills and stunning Valleys. This City is a beauty and unmissable gem in the land of a thousand hills. Depending on your arrival time, you will get the chance to explore Kigali by trying out the country’s aromatic coffee, touring the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and checking out some of its popular restaurants and Cafes known for mouth-watering dishes.

Day 2: Short City excursion and drive to Volcanoes National Park, visit the Twin Lakes
Having enjoyed your breakfast at the Hotel, take another tour of Kigali City (checking out the areas that were missed the day before) and later start your two and a half hour’s journey to Musanze, in the Northern Province of Rwanda. You will drive through the countryside with extraordinary views of verdant rolling hills and Valleys, as well as beautiful smiles from the locals. Arrive to the magnificent views of Virunga Volcanoes in the Northern Province and straight away continue to the Lodge.
Have lunch and visit the popular and stunning Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, fringed by towering rolling hills and lush vegetation. Explore these Lava-dammed Lakes via canoe rides to learn about their exciting formation, birds and enjoy the sight of fishermen casting their nets. Enjoy dinner and unwind at the Lodge to save your energy for the next day’s incredible adventures.

Day 3: Go for the magical gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park
On this beautiful day, you will head into the heart of Volcanoes National Park to search for the mountain gorillas. This Park is mainly characterized by a lush Bamboo forest, open grasslands as well as heath and marshland. Be briefed through the guidelines to be followed and later get driven to the trailhead. Follow the experienced rangers in searching for these peaceful and calm Giant Apes and this will take 1-5 hours.
Having found them, spend an hour with the gorilla family as its members go about daily routines from nursing babies, foraging, playing, resting to copulating. Lunch is at the Lodge and in the afternoon head to Gorilla Guardian Village. Here you will have an insight into the country’s rural cultures as you watch/ or even take part in the traditional dances, learn how to prepare their delicious and organic local cuisines, visit and interact with the traditional healer, listen to the traditional stories as told by the village elders and so much more.

Day 4: Undertake Golden monkey tracking and depart from Volcanoes National Park
This morning will be spent tracking the golden monkeys, frisky and exciting primate species known for their golden-brown fur. There are presently two habituated golden monkey troops in this Park, occupying the foothills of Virunga Volcanoes especially Sabyinyo. The trek will be considerably easier than the gorilla trek and should take not more than 4 hours. Once you get to the troop, spend one hour in their presence. Get back to the Lodge to freshen-up, lunch and pack your bags for the journey back to Kigali. This brings our 4 days Rwanda Gorilla and Golden Monkey tracking tour to a sad end. Later depart for your International flight and it is advisable to book flight departing beyond 7:00pm.
